■ DESIGNED & MADE IN IRELAND ■ EN1090 EX2 CERTIFIED ■ SLIDING GATES TO 17 M ■ FITTED BY OUR OWN TEAM
From a hand-crafted driveway gate in Dundalk to a 17-metre automated sliding gate at a working port, Marmion Engineering designs, fabricates and installs every gate in-house at our Greenore workshop. EN1090 EX2 certified steelwork, galvanised and finished for Irish weather, and fitted by our own team across Louth, Newry, Dublin, Cavan and the surrounding counties.
Plenty of companies sell gates. Very few design them, cut them, weld them, galvanise them, finish them and fit them — all under one roof. That’s the Marmion difference. Because your gate never leaves our control, you get an exact fit for your entrance, a finish specified for your site’s exposure, and one accountable team from first site visit to final swing test.
Over 30 years of fabrication experience goes into every gate, from period wrought-iron style entrances to modern automated systems for homes, farms and commercial premises.
No catalogue, no standard sizes — every gate starts with a site visit and a CAD drawing of your actual entrance. These are the gates we’re asked for most.
The entrance sets the tone for the whole property. We fabricate bespoke driveway gates for homes across Louth and the North East — swing or sliding, modern minimalist or traditional wrought-iron style, solid for privacy or open-bar for a longer view up the drive. Every gate is measured to your piers, drawn in CAD for approval, and hung by our own installers so it swings true for decades.
Popular requests: matching side gates and railings, letterbox and keypad integration, and hardwood-and-steel combinations.
Never get out of the car in the rain again. We build automation-ready gates and complete automated gate systems — swing and sliding — engineered so the automation works with the gate rather than being bolted on as an afterthought. Correct weight balance, proper foundations, safety edges and manual release come as standard thinking, not extras.
Retrofitting? We also automate and refurbish existing gates where the steelwork is sound.
Our signature capability: cantilever and tracked sliding gates up to 17 metres in a single span — among the largest fabricated in Ireland. Where a wide entrance, a slope, or limited swing room rules out conventional gates, a Marmion sliding gate secures the full opening with one smooth movement. Fabricated to EN1090 EX2, these are the gates protecting ports, industrial yards and commercial premises across the region.
When a gate is part of your site’s security and safety plan, fabrication quality is non-negotiable. We supply heavy-duty security gates, palisade-alternative designs and site entrance gates for factories, farms, schools, sports grounds and logistics yards — engineered for thousands of cycles, driver visibility, and HGV clearances, with certified steelwork behind every weld.
Complete the look: matching railings, pedestrian side gates, balustrades and custom balconies fabricated in the same style and finish as your main gate. From Art Nouveau curves to clean modern lines, everything is made in the same workshop, so the whole frontage reads as one piece of work.
We measure your entrance, check levels, piers and power, and talk through style, security and automation.
You approve an exact drawing of your gate with a detailed, itemised price. No surprises.
Cut, welded and finished in our Greenore workshop — galvanised and powder-coated for Irish weather.
Our own team installs, aligns and tests everything, and shows you how it all works.
A gate on the east coast lives a hard life — salt air, driven rain, and four seasons a day. Ours are built for it: hot-dip galvanised steel as the baseline, architectural powder-coating in any RAL colour, and marine-grade thinking learned from decades of fabricating for ports and coastal sites. Hinges, tracks and fixings are specified to the same standard as the gate itself, because a gate is only as good as what it hangs on.

One workshop in Greenore, Co. Louth — and installation crews on the road across the region every week. Wherever you are below, you get the same made-in-Louth gate and the same Marmion installers.
Our home patch. From our Greenore workshop we’re 20 minutes from Dundalk, and our gates hang on driveways, farms and business parks across Blackrock, Carlingford, Ardee and the wider county. Site visits in Louth are usually within days, not weeks.
Being on the border is an advantage — we work both sides of it every week. We quote, fabricate and install across Newry, Warrenpoint, Rostrevor and south Down/Armagh, handling sterling quotes and cross-border logistics without fuss.
An hour down the M1 puts us on site anywhere from Swords and Malahide to the city and south county. Dublin clients come to us for the fabrication depth local installers can’t match — especially large sliding gates, automation and commercial entrances.
Farms, homes and commercial yards across Cavan and Monaghan trust us for heavy-duty field-to-front-entrance work. Wide agricultural entrances and cattle-proof, HGV-friendly gates are a speciality.
Drogheda, Slane, Navan, Ashbourne — the M1 and N2 corridors are our daily commute. If you’re within an hour of Louth, you’re within our standard installation area; further afield, talk to us anyway.
The same certified structural steelwork standard behind our port and industrial projects goes into every domestic gate.

It depends on span, height, design detail, finish and automation — a simple pedestrian gate and a 17-metre automated sliding gate are very different jobs. Every quote is itemised after a free site visit, so you see exactly what you're paying for. Request a free quote and we'll give you a real number, not a guess.
Yes — both new automated gates designed around the automation from day one, and automation retrofits to sound existing gates. Swing and sliding systems, with safety edges, manual release and proper foundations as standard.
Once you approve the CAD drawing, fabrication and finishing typically run a few weeks depending on complexity and coating lead times. We confirm a schedule with your quote and keep you posted — no chasing required.
Every week. We're based minutes from the border at Greenore, Co. Louth, and regularly survey, deliver and install across Newry, Down and Armagh. Cross-border logistics and sterling quotes are routine for us.
